ITJA ADVANCED LEVEL COURSE

Course Description
Discover your potential as a tax justice champion in this advance level International Tax Justice Academy course. Through engaging in thought provoking discussions, sharing real work life experiences, unpacking local, regional and international scenarios, engaging in case exploring exercises and guided learning, participants will gain insights, learn new engagement techniques, improve their ability to collaborate and increase confidence in their tax justice challenge.
By the end of the 3-week course, you will have the necessary tools and a deeper understanding to effectively lead and contribute to the tax justice agenda in Africa and beyond. The course is perfect for ardent tax justice practitioners who aspire to transform societies through their work in Civil Society, media, trade unions and academia.
With an initial phase of live online sessions, you will get an introduction to the Advanced tax justice training, have an overview of the learning areas and get to interact with your trainers in preparation for the next in-person phase. During the in-person sessions, you will get an in-depth understanding of the subjects, share your own experience and learn from both your facilitators and fellow participants. Upon successful completion of the two learning phases, you will be awarded a certificate of recognition as a trained tax justice champion.
What Will I learn
This advanced course seeks to bring to a closure a facilitated learning journey that started at foundation level, through intermediate level and allow participants an opportunity to apply the lessons learnt in their respective fields or work, while utilising the already created ITJA peer learning and support community. This course is thus, specifically designed to meet the needs of skilled practicing learners and will help them to:
1. Enrich the tax Justice discourse and actions by interrogating lessons and experiences attributed to the foundation and intermediate courses.
2. Connect capacity building theories with emerging contextual realities, while focusing on possible interventions.
3. Create a sustainable and collaborative platform for experience sharing, networking, peer learning and support for tax justice champions.

Target Audience
Practicing agents of social change with working knowledge in the tax justice space and serving in either Civil Society, media, academia, trade unions and other like-minded actors.

Case studies, learning videos, glossary of key terms, reading materials, reflective questions and session related quizzes, session specific power point slides.
Requirements to undertake the course
1. Have successfully undertaken an intermediate level tax justice course as provided by TJNA under the International Tax Justice Academy or other TJNA recognized training at that level, or
2. Experience in implementing Tax Justice Network Africa affiliated projects or other tax justice related projects at mid or senior career level,
3. Must fill in an official online registration form.
